The Sweet Medicine SunDance Path
Thousands of years ago Americas' medicine women and men started to travel looking for deep spiritual truths beyond tribal limitations. For the ancient people hair symbolized knowledge and therefore these medicine women and men defined themselves as Twisted Hairs - those who take the knowledge from many sources and weave it together to create “braids of universal truths”.
The Twisted Hairs gathered an incredible amount of sacred spiritual knowledge about energy laws, ceremonial alchemy, healing techniques, communication with nature and controlled dreaming.
In 1250 b.c. the Twisted Hairs founded a Council, in charge of the preservation and evolution of their Path. From one generation to the other the Elders of this Council have protected the Twisted Hairs teachings, testing their validity and continuing to seek new knowledge.
In 1975, hearing the call of Grandmother Earth and seeing both the need and the readiness within the human collective, the Elders began to release the teachings to anyone seeking personal growth and spiritual awakening
The Sweet Medicine SunDance Path is the current incarnation of this ancient lineage and its teachings, ceremonies and practices are released through the Deer Tribe Metis Medicine Society, a not-for-profit educational organization, a shamanic centre encompassing both western and easter concepts.
